This book is about building know-how on OS/2 2.x device drivers, which is even more complex than OS/2 1.x device drivers. It's an over 400 pages book mixing technical information with a lot of descriptive information sometimes conceptual, sometimes historical, sometimes partial. It's not a tutorial nor an easy text. The examples are mostly in C (of course), but there's some assembly as well. For character and physical device drivers it suffices to have MASM 6 and Microsoft C 6 and a new LX linker. For virtual device drivers, one needs a 32-bits C compiler such as IBM C Set/2 or perhaps Borland C++ for OS/2. And of course IBM developers Toolkit and all the references one could gather out there on the Internet.Bottom line, despite not easy and probably not perfect it's a book which is worthy to have.
