I was supposed to purchase the 3rd edition but the prof. was lenient about it and said that students could buy the older 2nd version. At the time, the 3rd edition was sold for $150 and I bought this 2nd edition used for about $25. Anyways, for those wondering if there is a huge difference in the materials covered between the books, there are not. The 2nd edition is basically identical to the 3rd edition. Practice problems, examples, and chapter contents are the same. If you're a student looking to save some major cash buy the older edition. Why shell out hundreds of dollars to buy a book that you'll only be using for a semester.

The format on my laptop kindle app is awful, there are literally pages that wont load, I am struggling to do my homework with this stupid format. I have several other books and textbooks on my app and this is the only one that has these issues.

The 3 ring binder version does not fit any 3 ring binders as the book is 8.5x10" paper vs 8.5x11" paper. You'd think that a bunch of mathematicians could have figured that one out. So now I have loose leaf all over the place. It's also very pricey for no binding and the fact that I have no way to bind it!

A definite must is for sure. This kindle book makes things easier than having to carry the book all around campus. You can highlight and make notes in book. Also, even was able to create my own flashcards to test myself. THUMBS UP

One of the best introductory books for statistics I have read. Clear, concise and with nice illustrations.

I had to download Kindle in order to access this e-text and it was a fast and easy process. I'm using this text for a class and it is fairly straight-forward, with helpful exercises. Although the exercises can usually be done by hand, it is also helpful to get some form of spreadsheet program (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Minitab, etc.)

this book rental has all of the practice problems solved in the margins. bummer.

Way to much to read, it just complicated a subject I have to concentrate to understand. I ended up dropping the class, hoping for a different instructor and a different book.
