Loki Renard has always been a very good story-teller, and she didn’t disappoint this time around. The premise of this book was unique and the characters were lively and engaging. I started and finished this book in one day; that’s how much I enjoyed this read.What would happen if a woman from the distant future crash landed on a primitive form of our Earth, met others who share her similar DNA but who are still primitively tribal as compared to her life as an intergalactic traveler? Which way of life is better? Can she acclimate to this culture, fit in and become one of the tribe or should she return to the life she’s always known? These are only a few of the decisions our heroine must make through the course of this story.This is a stand alone book with an HEA, and one I highly recommend.

I actually love this book I love Loki and her writing. Read the story of "sky girl" and her captive Zion see were this journey takes them when she gets blown out of the sky and Zion decides she's he captive mate. Zion is a no holds hard disciplinarian to the reboulus Teslia see if love prevails in the story I recd as an ARC SO I WILL NOT BE GIVJNG MORE AWAY BUT I DID REALLY ENOY TGUS READ ABD READ IT QUICKLY TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. ENOY!!!!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "INSTINCT" This is such a unique storyline two different worlds two different ways of life one where sex is prohibited it's the law and another where all the men are Dominant and the women submissive and lots and lots of sex.Tselia is a star pilot and the product of an illicit affair her father the leader of the planet had where sex is prohibited by law so he keeps her busy in space she is rebellious, always getting into trouble and so so curious.Tselia decides to go to a planet where she thinks there's humanity but she crash lands and is attacked by some warrior women but Zion leader and Alpha Dominant of the planet comes to her rescue and looking at her he says mine and he claims her.Zion will teach her on a daily basis how to submit to him by having sex regularly something she has never done he is the one to tell you when and what to eat, what to do you follow his rules or your punished Tselia always being her curious self gets into more trouble when looking around.This is such captivating, interesting, suspense filled drama you are turning page after page there are twist you just can't put this book down will her father follow where she is and come rescue her you have to get this book to find out I can't wait for the next book the ending is not what you expect. I highly recommend to get this amazing book with very interesting, relatable characters I thoroughly enjoyed this read well written book by Loki Renard so well worth the read.

Tselia is on her last reprieve when her "punishment" is to monitor a planet, three light years away. She's inquisitive, rebellious, independent, and technologically advanced with an advanced DNA. Oh, and to make matters worse, she is the illicit daughter to the Patron of her planet. Zion is a warrior of a primitive village where males are Dominant and females are submissive. Most males of the village have already taken a mate. Zion is considered a prize of status since a female has not caught his eye for more than casual use. Loki Renard has given us two different worlds with two different social outlooks and living standards and found a way to combine them. How you ask? You'll need that pleasure yourself and I use the word "pleasure" intentionally. The D/s element is forefront with all the pain and pleasure you could ask for. But don't let that be the only influence. There is a plot which runs through the storyline with all the physical and emotional turmoil needed to keep the pages turning. Her characters are so personally relatable you'll be going through the experience with them. This is an intense read with all the extra benefits of a sexy discovery.

I found Loki Renard's latest book "Instinct" absolutely fascinating on a different level than any of her other novels. Writing a sci-fi romance is not new to her, but this one makes sweeping insight into the question of humanity. How do you define it? Live it? Embrace its tentaments? And who makes the rules?Tselia is a solo space pioneer who is tasked with watching over a desolate planet and documenting activity. Tselia is being punished for being overly involved in her last mission, and soon finds the planet she's watching is very much full of life. She thinks of these humanoids as primitive, perhaps devoid of proper communication and laws. When she is thrust into their lives unwillingly, she discovers just how wrong she is. I found the way Renard wrote Zion as a careful speaker interesting. He thinks before he speaks and limits what he says..I couldn't help but think how progressive that is! How many times do we as a society say too much and get into trouble? Zion doesn't live in his emotions like we do as human beings. So who is more evolved then?There are disciplinary sessions where Tselia is frustrated with her progress within the tribe. You might think, this is a primitive activity to punish for essentially standing up for yourself. But is it? This tribe values consistency, working together and family. Perhaps they have lasted on This planet this long because they are strict to their moral code?The scenes with Zion and Tselia smoke with chemistry. He is cool, calm and collected, and she questions her entire life. I see her questioning everything she knows, and what she wants. Loneliness is a not a merciful emotion. As "evolved" humans, has Tselia 's people forgotten their humanity? Their empathy for others? Their ability to see value in others that don't share the same values?Renard always sneaks something funny and unexpected in her stories. There is a scene where Tselia and Zion are face to face with her father, the leader, and Zion says things that will surprise you. I laughed, again thinking...look who has the upper hand just by thinking things through before acting?I don't know if Renard meant for Instinct to be a commentary on modern humanity, but that's how I interpreted it. Well constructed and ridiculously compelling, the story will make you think.
